The Bryden Family 1920-1969 Thomas E. Bryden 1918-1978 "Elmer" as a child, "Tommy" as a teenager, born Howard James Bryden, June 14, 1918, County Hospital, Denver, Colo. Affidavit Feb. 23, 1939 at Denver Colo. says that James A. Bryden says the name is in error, and should read Thomas E. Bryden. Mother's name is Amanda Marie Bolin (sic), born Mt. Olive, Ill. After graduating from Denver West High School, Tom joined the Army Air Corps and was a bombadier in the Philippines. He was a pharmacist in several Denver-Area drug stores. He died in 1978 from the complications of lung disease. The Denver Broncos had just gone to their first Super Bowl. Tom Bryden's sister was Agnes Marie Bryden Holcombe, 1920-1990. An older brother, Alexander James (Sander Buddy) had died in infancy during a flu epidemic. Laura Catheryn Haldaman 1919-1985 spelled her middle name Cathryn originally. Laura was an excellent student through High School in Hennessey, Oklahoma. She attended Beauty School and went to train for radio in Tonkawa, Oklahoma. She joined the Army Air Corps during WWII and was a Link Training Instructor (trained pilots in a flight simulator). As a civilian, she was a telephone operator and a retail clerk. She died in Denver in 1985 after a long struggle with diabetes. Her second grandchild had been born shortly before.
