Superman Comics

I put my Superman comic book covers on Picassaweb, but I found a great site with over 17,000 covers already in place. It's called. comic-covers.com. There are also some links to specific comics below.

Comics were 10 cents, 12 cents by the 1960s, 20 cents in the 1980s

I will add some Archie, Dell, and Harvey Comics later.

Another great site is superdickery.com. It has things like Stupor Powers, Seduction of the Innocents, Weird Science. Everything you thought was strange after you got old enough to realize how the real world worked.

In the same vein is i-mockery.com They mock Lois Lane, Jimmy Olson, and just about everything in the world.

The Superman series included Action, Jimmy Olson, Lois Lane, Superboy, Superman, Worlds Finest. Associated titles and later titles were Adventure, Aquaman, Batman, Batman Family, Bizarro, DC Specials, Detective, Flash, Green Lantern, Justice Legue, Showcase, Supergirl, Superman Family, and Wonderwoman.

Action Comics was the original Superman comic. It appeared monthly, and it contained stories other than Superman. It ran from April 1938 (dated June) to the present. Action comic-covers. A great discussion of Superman is here, including the entire Action Comics #1.

Superman's Pal Jimmy Olson had his own comic book from 1954 to 1974. It was bi-monthly. He originlly was with Superman as early as 1938 or 1941. Jimmy Olson covers

Supermn's Girlfriend Lois Lane had her own comic book from 1958-1974. It was bi-monthly. She went through many personality changes before and after. Lois Lane covers

Superboy was published from March 1949 to 2002. Sometimes it was monthly, sometimes less. I once had a copy of Superboy #1 until some family member decided I was too old to play with comics, so she threw them all away. Superboy covers

Superman has had his own magazine from June, 1939 to the present. Superman covers

World's Finest comics put Superman and Batman together. It was published from April 1941 until 1986, with at least one more since. World's Finest covers
